10 Things To Remember Before You Start Your Next Week

by  |

1. Live Simply

Simplicity will keep you from the distractions of the world and help you focus on what is really important in life.

2. Give Much

The old saying of ‘better to give than receive’ holds true. We should be grateful that we have the capacity to give and cherish the act of giving.

“The greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being.” – Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama

3. Treat Others How You Would Like To Be Treated

By treating others with compassion, love and understanding we can build better relationships.

4. Understand What Makes You Happy

Far too often people go around doing what they ‘think’ will make them happy. Don’t be afraid to be an individual and do what you enjoy.

“Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” – Lao Tzu

5. Remember Life Is Change

Don’t take yourself and life too seriously and practice detachment. Everything changes so learn to go with the flow…

6. Be Open To New Ideas & Learning

Don’t get trapped in a conditioned way of thinking.

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” – Helen Keller

7. Don’t Just Think Of Your Self, Think Of Others

Most of our issues, problems and stress come from focusing on ourselves. Our ego and selfish desires will only bring us sorrow, longing and anxiety.

8. Try To Maintain Balance In Your Life

Make sure you balance work, life, love and play. Too much or too little of each of these can result in an imbalance and generate stress and disease.

“If we are too busy, if we are carried away every day by our projects, our uncertainty, our craving, how can we have the time to stop and look deeply into the situation -our own situation, the situation of our beloved one, the situation of our family and of our community, and the situation of our nation and of the other nations?” – Thich Nhat Hanh

9. Associate With People You Like, Trust & Respect

Associate with people who make you smile and bring out the best in you.

10. Eat Healthy & Exercise

It is hard to be happy when you feel sick and miserable physically. Treat your body with the respect it deserves and eat wholesome nutritious foods.
