Consciousness, Subconsciousness and Power

The Creator said, “I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it. It is the realization that they create their own reality.”

The eagle said, “Give it to me, I will take it to the moon.”

The Creator said, “No. One day they will go there and find it.”

The salmon said, “I will bury it on the bottom of the ocean.” “No. They will go there too.”

The buffalo said, “I will bury it on the Great Plains.”

The Creator said, “They will cut into the skin of the Earth and find it even there.”

Grandmother Mole, who lives in the breast of Mother Earth, and who has no physical eyes but sees with spiritual eyes, said, “Put it inside of them.”

And the Creator said, “It is done.”

-A Sioux Creation Story

Perhaps no skill is more urgent for individuals to develop in this day and age than being in control of their own consciousness. It is important for our own personal growth, healing and creative processes and thus that of the planet as well.

The more we are in control of our own thoughts, the more we see how others attempt to steer them for us.  The more we are in control of our own thoughts, the more power we reserve, implement and direct.

Being involved in herbal medicine has given me the opportunity to meet many people who are seeking a way to heal.  While people are on their journey of healing, sometimes something funny happens:  what frequently sifts to the surface is that a person will ultimately choose to stick with what is most comfortable to them.

Between healing or staying the same, staying the same is what is familiar.  Familiarity can be ironically comfortable.  Healing can be painful.  The comfort is cast in a well-worn neural network of thoughts and beliefs, crusted over with fear, that are like old scabs that refuse to fall off.

The person sabotages the process they’ve begun by devoting 10% effort to it because either consciously or subconsciously they do not want to face the work to change their own thought structures and habits.  Yet they desire still for those they have asked to help them to continue to do so because they feel miserable!

It is like a man dying of thirst, crawling to the well, asking to drink, being given a bucket of water and a cup to drink from, yet he does not want to lift the cup to his lips.

The person who drew the bucket of water lifts the cup to his lips for him, but the man refuses to swallow.  “I thirst!” he yells.  He groans, he cries, “Water!  Give me water!” as it dribbles out the corners of his mouth and down his face.

I’m sorry to inform anyone in this situation, but it is up to you to drink.  You must think your world into flexing, evolving and healing.

A change in behavior requires a change in consciousness.  That is a process you initiate, that is something you seek, that is something you must implement to incorporate the change you are seeking into yourself and your life.

We are all responsible for our own efforts and choices.  It frequently takes much more effort than we are usually hoping for or comfortable enough to give.  But when we look within and apply ourselves, we are in control of our own Power.

If we dredge through life with an absent mind and are led around by our noses (or other sensory organs), we externalize all our thought and our power mindlessly.  It radiates out, scattering to the wind, adding smatterings of energy to different banks than our own.

We feel tired, discouraged and drained.  We really are when we live in this way.  People then look for sympathy from others and realize they can recharge after spending time with another person who has consoled them.

This is not a bad thing unless we habitually seek the attention of others over a negative situation in our life to recharge our reserves from theirs instead of buckling down and changing our situation.  When this happens a person becomes a classic energy leech.

We do not have to parasitize power in this manner; we only must look within and observe our thoughts and awareness to retain our power and direct it.  It comes from an inexhaustible well.  External power is a lie; all is within.

You have a little voice inside you,

It doesn’t matter who you think you may be.

You’re not free if you don’t know me.

See, I’m not the lie that lives outside you,

And it doesn’t matter what

You think you believe,

You’re not free if you don’t know me,

If you don’t know me.

“The Healing Room” on Faith and Courage

Being in control of the direction of your consciousness goes beyond physical and emotional healing.  It is the anchor of our daily lives, world view, and creative process.  Every day we are assaulted with subliminal solicitations of our subconsciousness to drive the agendas of various interests.

We have arrived at a stage where the lobbying for our opinions and beliefs in a world of mindless creators has reached a global fever pitch.  Global change is either going to be for “the man” (which will not be authentic change at all) or for the planet & thus ourselves.

If we cannot master our thoughts to engender change in our own life choices, chances are our subconsciousness and thus consciousness is being fully exploited by subliminal steering in the media stream for other interests.

It is time to develop control over our own consciousness and our own power.  You might say, “Of course I’m in control!”  But are you acting as your own master or the marionette?

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Anyone who has a reason to market to you and is effective at doing so–be it governments, corporations, or the entertainment industry, knows that the key to locking you in to what they want is your super fantastic subconsciousness.  Subconsciousness is steered through:

  • images
  • symbols
  • sounds
  • colors
  • trauma

You do not need to know why or how seeing something affects you for it to actually affect you in the way that it does.  We are all exposed to these directives on a daily basis, the most important mediums being the television and internet to deliver them via:

  • news
  • advertisements
  • movies
  • music
  • music videos
  • television shows

What are you to them that they would want to direct you?  In short, you are a consumer.  You are Dollars.  You are Income.  You are Economy.  You are Labor.  There are lots of You.  Lots of you makes You vastly powerful, as a wave in the ocean, so it is important that you be collectively directed for the benefit of the smooth functioning as a whole (e.g. State Collective).

This ensures the Whole functions efficiently in a self-sustaining manner which requires economic productivity and stability.  This brings us right back to your Dollars (or Pounds or Euros, etc.).  Dollars in a symbolic and very real way represent your energy.

You have true power as a consumer.  What you buy dictates what they will sell.  What you invest in largely dictates if they are successful or not.  Special interests will want to ensure that the monetary flow is channeled in the desired direction and recycled back into their hands in as many ways as possible.

Efforts will be made to make sure your thoughts and worldview follow their flow.  The most effective, energy efficient and expedient route is implemented.  Enter your subconsciousness.

The subconsciousness is very absorbent and pliable. While our consciousness may not “remember” everything or “see” everything, our subconsciousness does.

The subconsciousness responds in certain ways to specific colors, symbols and imagery, and that omni-awareness has a hand in prompting every conscious and unconscious behavior, desire and emotion you experience throughout the day.

This then puts the powers of your own mind and heart to work for whatever direction you are being steered to.  Your mindset becomes effectively externalized in the outward lie.

I would encourage you to pay attention to your thoughts.  Maybe you will find you weren’t paying attention?  Do you think about the same things over and over?  Are they empty chatter?  Are your thoughts accompanied by strong emotions?  What are those emotions?

Also, consider what you see in your daily life in the way information is presented to you.  Do you see certain symbols, patterns and colors used over and over again?  What are they? How does it make you feel?

What is being propositioned to you, and why do you think it would be presented in that way?  Where do the dollars of this idea really go to?  You are what stands between actively using your money to represent your own interests, or giving it to a dog and pony show that undermines your interests behind the scenes.

Consciousness, Subconsciousness and Power…

Imagine if we all chose to put our awareness into thinking about and creating a world that cherishes Love!

What would that world look like?  Personal liberty for all?  Peace?  Restored biodiversity?  Clean water?  Happy families?  A healthy world?

It is very attainable:  but it only happens with all of our dedication to living with a conscious intention to Love.
