It’s an interesting fact that most people around world stay in the same job all their life. And not just that but they live in the same place, the same State or county all their lives, have the same 4 or 5 friends all their lives and go on vacation to the same place all their lives!
They live in what I call a coffin, which is their comfort zone and they never want to move because its all too hard. Now its true that there is a whole wide and exciting world out there that life is made up of and these people never see it.
They are locked in the coffin.
Your comfort zone is your coffin. It stops you growing, it stops you experiencing life in all its beauty and it stops you living a life you were born to live.
Why are you stuck there? Family and friends. Family and friends don’t want you doing anything out of the ordinary. They want you to stay average, just like them.
Truth is they are too scared to do anything else and they certainly don’t want you heading off around the world or doing things to improve yourself.
So how do you break free of the coffin? How do you get yourself out of that comfort zone? You have to look very closely at the friends you have.
Look closely at the people you have who are negative. Get them out of your life. Find new inspiring friends. people who want to see you succeed, people who inspire you. Don’t settle for anything less.
The 5 people you hang with the most is the sum of who you are. Where your friends are is exactly where you are in life. It might be time to change your friends, some of your family and change your life.
If you don’t then you stop growing, like a flower that is dead, it has stopped growing. Move forward, grow, find new friends and mentors and blossom into the successful person you were born to be.
Surround yourself with people who can see the greatness in you. People who will encourage you to get out of your comfort zone. Don’t forget life begins at the end of your comfort zone!
I jumped out of my comfort zone again just recently by joining a local choir. They have 200 members on their books. It was scary doing it but I now have another 200 inspiring friends to hang with. I love it!
What are you going to do to move out of your comfort zone? I would love to hear your thoughts.
